Developer - Systems & Management Information

OVERALL PURPOSE

In order to support group’s management decisions, this role is required to focus on the design, development and maintenance of meaningful Management Information and the implementation of the systems for this purpose.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This role will be part of the Finance Systems and Management Information (MI) team, reporting to the Head of Finance Systems & MI. This role will work closely with colleagues in the systems and MI team who specialise in the accounting processes and systems that already support the business, but also with our Business Information team in the Information Technology department.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with the Head of Systems and MI to support the development and maintenance of the Group’s MI strategy
  • Working closely with the rest of the Systems & MI team to take on board their understanding of the systems that support the Financial Accounting and Control environment and how this will impact the configuration of the systems that support our MI reporting and distribution environment
  • Work closely with Financial Business Partners, head of FP&A and various members of financial Control team to gather the reporting requirements and development and maintain these in order to ensure their needs are met timeously
  • Work closely with the Business Systems and BI development team in IT to collaborate in the development and maintenance of our MI reporting and distribution infrastructure (primarily the FP&A tool, Power BI and other related application/tools)
  • Maintain their own knowledge, but also leverage off the experience and understanding of members of the team to ensure we are always at the forefront of technological advances and best practices with regards to the systems that support our MI and FP&A functions
  • Ensure that the quality and accuracy of the reporting that is being developed and help to design controls to guard against inaccurate reporting
  • Training of end-users of reporting, but also members of staff that may need to train others

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor level degree / HEG or equivalent
  • Degree/Specialization in Accounting, Statistics or Information Systems (recommended)
  • Implementation and/or use of an FP&A tool like AnaPlan or Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting (incl. cash flow)
  • Production Management information for use by the CFO and business
  • Design of reports using Power BI or similar tool
  • +3 years’ experience in a similar environment

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • English at Business level (min. C1)
  • Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint – Advanced
  • Knowledge of the use of SQL / MDX / DAX would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of “Data Wrangling” (R / SAS / Python etc.) would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of NavOne and MS Dynamix AX would be an advantage
  • Ability to deal with management and staff at all levels and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train users of systems at all levels
  • Great attention to detail, alongside excellent organisational skills
  • High degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to deal with third parties in a professional and confidential manner
  • Schedules and manages workload effectively, thinks ahead, sets plans to achieve goal
  • Supports and works towards team goals, shares information
