Stonehage Fleming are delighted to host an exclusive private viewing of the contemporary jewellery exhibition
This exhibition will bring together 20 artists and design houses and is framed around a conceptual installation composed of five objects collected during Melanie Grant’s recent travels through Italy. The show coincides with the September launch of her latest publication "The Jewelry Book" by Phaidon - a comprehensive visual survey of 300 of the most influential figures in the world of jewellery.
Elisabetta Cipriani | Elisabetta Cipriani Wearable Art
Elisabetta Cipriani launched her eponymous gallery in London in 2009 with the vision of transforming contemporary art into wearable sculptures. The gallery represents over thirty modern and contemporary artists, and serves as a platform for exclusive collaborations, inviting select artists to create limited edition or unique wearable art pieces that extend the artist’s work. These projects, guided by Elisabetta, have included works by Jannis Kounellis, Giuseppe Penone, Michele Oka Doner, Liliane Lijn, and Ai Weiwei among others.
In 2018, Elisabetta launched EC Lab, a platform for experimental wearable art design, showcasing innovative work by emerging and established designers with strong artistic practices.
Melanie Grant | Writer
Melanie Grant is a writer of over 20 years. For 16 years as Picture, Watch, Jewellery and Luxury Editor and was Executive Director, now Executive Consultant for the Responsible Jewellery Council for two years.
She has become an authority on jewellery as art and commodity, giving talks at the most prestigious institutions around the world, organising exhibitions for Kensington palace, Sotheby’s, The Serpentine Galleries and The Elisabetta Cipriani Gallery, she is author or co-author of 6 books and has received prestigious international awards.
