Wealth Strategies for Intergenerational Success

Johan van Zyl, Chairman of Stonehage Fleming South Africa, will share some of the key insights from our research on intergenerational wealth management which challenge conventional industry thought leadership.

The findings, which are based on consultation with some 150 members of different multi-generational families and their advisers, reveal that none of the top five risks to long-term family wealth are in fact “financial”, but each has potentially severe financial consequences. It is therefore concerning how much time, money and effort families (and their advisers) spend on monitoring and addressing financial risks compared to the non-financial risks identified, as these are viewed as significantly more important.
