Who is your favourite artist and why?
Gustav Klimt, The Kiss
For human form, it is a tie between Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt. Master and apprentice, I love the way they both evoke the sensuality of the body with every pencil or brush stroke. Their use of colour is so interesting: shades that you feel you have never seen before, which are subtle yet passionate. Even their preliminary sketches (which I have seen exhibited together at the RA) are powerful with great character, despite their simplicity.
Egon Schiel, Portrait of Wally Neuzil
At school I loved painting landscapes (and still do), especially bodies of water. Turner has always been my favourite artist for his mastery of city and seascapes. I am especially obsessed with his blue/violet palettes.

Do you have a favourite artwork and why is it meaningful to you?
When we were growing up, my dad always used to bring his paints on holiday and spend time sketching my siblings and me while we were playing. Some of his pieces are on the walls of our family home and I love the nostalgia of looking at them and remembering where we were, what we were like at that age, and the times that we shared as a family. I think my favourite is a watercolour painting of my mum, you can just see the immense love in it.
Any exhibitions you have seen recently that you really enjoyed?
I was in Mexico City not long ago and visited the Frida Kahlo Museum / Blue House to drink in her story and the vibrant colours and textures of her artwork. I am a huge fan.
