In a year of significant M&A activity within the wealth management sector, the merger of Stonehage and Fleming Family & Partners, which completed last September, was a standout. The two firms joined forces to become the biggest independent multi-family office in Europe, with £29 billion in assets under management and 220 clients.

‘It was not one firm buying another, it was a clear merger and combination of companies,’ says Sternberg who oversees £5.5 billion of the firm’s capital as head of its UK investment business.
