Michael Polonsky
Director – Stonehage Fleming Law
Michael is Director at Stonehage Fleming Law Limited, he has had extensive experience in complex cross-border litigation, including disputes over jurisdiction, the recognition of foreign judgments, and obtaining freezing injunctions and anti-suit injunctions. He is an English Solicitor, specialising in dispute resolution and his role usually involves project-managing the conduct by external lawyers of litigation in which a Group structure or client is involved.
Prior to joining the Group in 2018, Michael worked at Paisner & Co (which merged to form Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP), where he was a Partner and (for a time) head of the litigation department. He has lectured on conflicts of law in the Faculties of Law at the Universities of Bristol (England) and Auckland (New Zealand). He has also lectured in South Africa on the utility to South African insolvency practitioners of the benefits of section 426 of the Insolvency Act 1986.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and law degrees from the University of Oxford (an MA in Jurisprudence and a BCL) and the Diploma of the Hague Academy of International Law.
